Filipino Cooking Demo by Filipina chef, Pearl Parmelee

As we celebrate FAHM, we at SOMCAN continues to aim to improve the overall health and well-being of the Filipino-American community by addressing health disparities. In partnership with SF Public Library & Balay Kreative, we'll be continuing our FREE Filipino Cooking Demo which will feature Chef Pearl Parmelee! Tita Pearl is a talented chef, passionate about elevating Filipino food here in the US. She is currently a Commissioner for Contra Costa Arts & Culture and Business Development Director for Latino Food Industry & Filipino Food Movement. She is active in promoting and mainstreaming Filipino food and products through her consulting company. Even as she worked for Hilton Hotels Corp, GreyLine Tours, Children's Hospital and Siemens, her volunteer activities continued as she involved herself on Filipino Festivals and activities all over USA promoting Filipino products and once again got nickname Tita Pearl, the festival queen. Catch her this Wednesday, Oct. 6th from 5:30pm-6:30pm PST live! She will be cooking Panara /vegan Sio Mai.
